We are Lengalenga Filmes, a recently established production company co-founded by Carolina Castro Almeida and Miguel Cortes Costa in 2022. We began working together on the documentary "Malcata - The Tale of a Lonely Mountain Range" (2020), which received national and international recognition in festivals, airing on SIC and showcased globally by the Instituto Camões. Following the broad appreciation of "Malcata," we made the decision to establish Lengalenga Filmes.

The company has quietly but steadily carved out its niche in Portugal, specialising in storytelling about nature, history, and science. Our debut film, "Wilding" (2024), set the tone for a commitment to producing factual and visually appealing documentaries that intertwine nature with human stories, with an educational purpose without disregarding an authorial viewpoint.

In collaboration with environmental groups and educational institutions, we create informative institutional videos. Our clients include educational institutions, biological departments, ecology research groups and the government's Institute of Nature Conservation and Forests, for digital media and national broadcast.

The work of Lengalenga Filmes relies on Carolina's expertise in production, animation, and motion graphics, while Miguel is dedicated to filming, editing, and sound design. However, filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and we have assembled a team of professionals committed to creating original soundtracks, conducting color correction, scriptwriting, translation, voiceover and audio mixes, forming a dedicated collective.
