Lengalenga Filmes was tasked with telling the story of a peatland reborn. For decades, the Paul da Goucha was mined for sand and aggregate, used as a landfill, and largely forgotten. Then a chance discovery — one of the deepest peat deposits in the Iberian Peninsula, capable of storing carbon on a scale that rivals entire forests — turned it into a European restoration case study. This short documentary follows the researchers, landowners and local voices bringing the wetland back to life, and rebuilding, along the way, a community's relationship with the land.
